FAQ

Discover the answers to frequently asked questions about our products and quickly navigate through testing methods and measurement parameters.

How do I choose the most suitable testing method for my product?

The best testing method depends on various factors: part volume, test pressure, leak to be detected, and desired level of integration. A ForTest technician can perform preliminary tests with you to identify the most suitable solution.

What advantages does the Dual Absolute method offer compared to a traditional differential method?

Dual Absolute technology combines the strengths of absolute decay and differential methods: it maintains the simplicity and robustness of an absolute decay system, but intelligently compensates for thermal and mechanical variations that in traditional differential systems require reference parts always under pressure and continuous adjustments. In practice, it offers a more stable and repeatable measurement across a wide range of pressures and volumes, with simplified pneumatics, lower sensitivity to dirt and pressure surges, and reduced maintenance requirements over time.

How can I integrate the leak tester with my test bench or with the company MES?

All ForTest equipment is equipped with USB, RS232 and LAN communication ports, with various protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, ForTest).

What is preliminary testing on my products and what is it used for?

The preliminary test is used to evaluate which equipment to use, define cycle times, verify repeatability and all the characteristics necessary to obtain a test that meets testing expectations.

How long does a leak test take? Is it possible to speed up the cycle?

The preliminary test is used to evaluate which equipment to use, define cycle times, verify repeatability and all the characteristics necessary to obtain a test that meets testing expectations.

What is the difference between a ForTest leak tester and others on the market?

ForTest stands out thanks to innovative patented technology that requires no preventive maintenance and offers a 3-year warranty on equipment.

Can I monitor my tests and analyze the data?

All ForTest equipment can be interfaced to PC for data traceability. The MyForTest cloud software allows real-time verification of results and complex analyses.

What do I do if my line produces different parts? Can I store multiple programs?

All ForTest equipment allows saving at least 99 test programs, which can be selected manually by the operator or through external PLCs or laptops, thus enabling testing of different components with the same equipment.

Do you offer certified calibration?

We offer traceable or accredited calibration services according to ISO 17025.

How often should the leak tester be calibrated?

The calibration interval depends on each company’s quality manual. ForTest recommends calibrating the equipment once a year.

How can I be certain that my product meets the required quality standards?

The use of calibrated leaks allows verification that the process complies with expectations and that the equipment meets the required testing standards.

What are the most common errors during testing phases? - fortest.it

The most common errors are: testing parts that are not at room temperature, using tubes that are too long (which affect the measurement), or applying a plugging system that poorly seals the part or creates overpressure.

Is it possible to test equipment before purchasing?

Yes. ForTest provides a free trial service to evaluate the equipment under real operating conditions.

What type of training do you offer to my operators?

We offer training at the customer’s facility: from the theoretical fundamentals of leak testing to equipment usage and test program development.

How long does the calibration procedure take?

La durata media dell’intervento varia tra 20 e 30 minuti per strumento, a seconda del modello.
